Heidelberg

Heidelberg was supposed to be the final stop for my trip in Germany. I’d heard a couple of times that it is definitely worth to see and visit. And the way from Bremen till Furtwangen (where I had lived in Germany) was quite far, probably like 12 hours or so, even though taking on account that the fastest trains are taken. So, that was the perfect oppurtunity for me to visit Heidelberg as a final stop.

I was going to stay at Andrew’s, who had also studied the winter semester in Furtwangen and by that time was doing an internship at a IT company. Just before I was about to arrive, he told me that some friends also from Furtwangen were coming to visit him on the very same day. So we were going to have some fun that day.

Balazs came to pick me up from the train station. We went back to the flat, but there was absolutely nobody there. The guys already went to shopping, so we waited almost like an half-hour. They bought us some nice food and beverages, we had some nice lunch. Then we went out. Andrew knew the city a bit, because he had just been living there for like 2 months. He showed us around in the city center. Then we made our way to the famous Heidelberg castle. Well, actually I do not know if that’s the real name, but we were calling it like that.

It was raining some of the time, we got wet, not soaked out but wet, not very pleasant. There were also lots of tourists around, visiting the castle. They were making photos, we were making photos. They were laughing, we were laughing.

The view from the castle was really nice. There was a river nearby, flowing through the town, with the gray, dark clouds above us, the photos were even better. While it was getting late and dark,we moved to another part of the town. We were told that there was going to be some fireworks. Well, at that time we didn’t have anything better to do, so we took our drinks with and made our way one more time.

It was not even close to being awesome or spectacular. I made a video anyways. We went back to the flat, changed our clothes, put on our night outfits, went out again to the discos. We hit a couple of discos, it was really really crowded. Although it was not high season, there were lots of people, and most of the discos were almost full. You couldn’t even dance, just stand in some weird way. One funny thing happened, though.

While we were back in Furtwangen, some of us were calling Balazs as Mr. Bean. I am sure there are lots of people on earth, who looks alike, but he was one of us and we had to do that. He never got furious with us, he just didn’t like the idea. Anyways, while we were waiting in some line for getting into a disco, while some guys were passing by, one of them had just stopped and started almost in a screaming voice: “AAccch, look, Mr. Bean”. Afterwards, he started chatting with Balazs. Then he went away to call some of his friends to see Mr. Bean. 5 minutes later, they were almost 10. They were all surprised and of course we had our fun.

We stayed out till 5 am, we said goodbye to Balazs and Susi, they were going back to Hungary. Michael drove us all the way back to Furtwangen. It was 7.30 when we arrived and I counted ourselves lucky that we didn’t have any accidentish things. It is always hard to drive a car so late and so tired. I was all the way sleeping, but no problem occured. Thank you very much…
